Staff Answer You would use either the Refined A or Extra Virgin Olive Oils. They would both be listed as Olive Oil in a soap calculator.

Staff Answer To add an oil to a water soluble product needs a solubilizer, such as polysorbate 80. Otherwise, the oil and water will separate.

Staff Answer They are both good to use in CP. Refined A is lighter in color and slightly less expensive. The Extra Virgin is darker and takes a little longer to bring to trace. It is really your preference as to which one to use.

"I'm interested in purchasing the 7 lb order of olive oil. The description says it comes in a plastic jug. Are all 7 lbs in one jug? Is the jug pourable (like a milk jug, etc)? I just wonder how easy/hard it will be to handle 7 lbs."

Staff Answer All of our base oils are packaged in a gallon jug, just like a milk jug. They are very easy to use. A gallon of coconut 76 oil and palm oil are packaged in a gallon pail as these are solid and need to be heated and poured into the containers.

"I am making a body oil, which would be best to put in it - regular olive oil, pomace olive oil, or olive oil refined A? And also which one would have the best benefits for the skin? Along with how long is the shelf life? Thank you!"

I think the most beneficial would be the higher grade Olive oil such as the virgin Olive oil. The lower grade is the Pomace just because of how it has been processed. I am not sure about shelf life but if your worried about that you can try a preservative.

Staff Answer Great question! Actually, we do not recommend any of our products be used for food/ingestion. We do not have an FDA approved facility, so there is the risk of cross contamination with other products. This should only be used for your cosmetic formulations.
