"I added .75% of the Optiphen Plus to 2 oz. ea. of your Rose and Vanilla hydrosols mixed with 4 oz. of Witch Hazel but it would not completely dissolve into the mixture. Little bubbles throughout and larger ones floating on top no matter how much I mixed it up. There’s nothing to indicate this, but does it need to be mixed with a solubilizer in water based products? Can you please advise if this is safe for the uses I have mentioned? Thank You!"

"My Go To Preservative"
COMMENTS:  This is my go to preservative. I've never had any mold grow in my lotions and it doesn't cause separation. I usually use the minimum amount required and have had no problems. I mainly use it in lotion and flax seed hair gel so that I won't have to store it in the refrigerator and discard it after a few days. This allows me to keep my gel in my bathroom without worry. Will definitely buy again.

"Great in goat's milk lotion"
COMMENTS:  I use this as a preservative for goat's milk lotion using a combination of fresh goat's milk and distilled water as the liquid. 11 grams for a 30 ounce batch of lotion, I believe is the amount. When used correctly I've found that my lotions last for over a year (and longer) without any signs of mold/degrading. If you're making a lot of lotion I'd recommend going ahead and buying the larger bottle because you'll use it!

"Use this in some lotions"
COMMENTS:  For people concerned about parabens, this is a good choice for preservation. I use this in some of my lotions so that I can offer a paraben free product. It's a good overall preservative for lotions & creams. Choosing the right preservative can sometimes be confusing. But WSP does a good job of explaining & providing a good description of this preservative. They also provide information on usage rates as well as pH levels & temps for usage. This is one I always keep on hand.
