Product Details

All Natural Orange Peel Powder is rich in vitamin C and other fruit acids that are thought to be useful in cosmetics and soap. Produces a natural yellow/orange color. Works well in face masks, face soap, liquid soap, body washes and scrubs!

DIRECTIONS: Incorporate into formula, amount as desired. Common use levels are 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon per pound of base. Test your final product to insure optimal performance and no staining. Not recommended for leave on products.

Staff Answer You can use fruit powders in melt and pour soap. Be careful to not use too much as some can provide a scratchy texture.

I actually use this as an all natural colorant. I put it in my oil and infuse the root powder so that I can have all the benefits without the grainy texture. You can use the actual powder but use a small amount and mix VERY well. Hope this helps! -- Jamie

I've used this to color oil as well but I didn't care for the slightly scratchy feeling some of the others mentioned. I chose to strain the oil through a coffee filter and I had no more issues.

Yes! I always keep it under 10% though, just to keep it from getting to grainy and scratchy! But the color is lovely!

"Will orange peel powder cause goat's milk M&P to get darker over a few weeks? That is what happened to my my white citrus soap! I used only a pinch of orange powder in 32 ounces and now, 2 weeks later, it is a much darker orange! Thank you!"

"Perfect for Scrubs"

COMMENTS: I use this Orange Powder mostly for my 'Orange Grove' salt scrubs. It adds great texture to the scrub and also imparts a light scent of oranges. It works great with the Satsuma fragrance oil. I don't notice a scent in Cold Process Soap though. If you're looking for something to make soap look like sand for beach themed soaps, this works great!

"Very fine exfoliate. "

COMMENTS: I made sugar scrub cube with this, I wanted more grainy feeling but it is great powder for face and sensitive skin. I was expecting orange smell but it doesn't smell like orange. I added wild orange essential oil. You can still smell orange powder. I didn't like at first but it grown on me that it is earthy and calming.

"Nice botanical"

COMMENTS: I've used this in a citrus cp soap, I'm happy with it. If you were to add the powder to your batter while it was dry, it would be exfoliating. However, I soak my orange powder in the water for a few hours before I add the lye, and it softens up nicely and gives the soap an orange color. I will buy this again, I'm pleased with it!

COMMENTS: I use the orange powder in CP soap to color it. I mix it with a little of the melted oils before adding at trace and it left my soap with a beautiful orange color. I didn't notice any grittiness or specks as I have with some other colorant powders. It doesn't smell like orange like I thought it might, and didn't affect the fragrance of the soap at all.

COMMENTS: I've used this product several times in cold/room temperature process with very good results. It blends with a lot of other scents or by itself with a natural orange fragrance, mixes well at trace but not noticing trace to be accelerated and not gritty. It results in a light orange color. I will definitely buy this product again.

"Rich scent"

COMMENTS: This orange powder smells like warm unsweetened orange juice concentrate, bitter, not sweet or juicy at all. I won’t take away any stars for that. I bought this to use in conjunction with orange essential oil in my products, the oil should dominate the overall smell. Five stars because I am very happy with it and there is nothing wrong with it.
