This classic project makes our favorite sugar scrub. The combination of foaming bath whip, soap and sugar make the perfect texture for a scrub. We love the balance of creamy soap and sugar to create this gentle exfoliant! Customers will love the nutty almond vanilla scent.

Staff Answer We recommend you refer to the directions for each preservative. Each one has its own usage level. This would be determined by the total amount of product you are making. For this recipe, the total would be 62 ounces.

Staff Answer Yes, we have had customers substitute the soap base in this scrub recipe. The results should be the same as with the clear. If selling, you would need to change the INCI ingredient listing to reflect the new soap base.

Yes you certainly can, I substituted the clear MP for the oatmeal MP and used Oatmeal, Milk & Honey fragrance, WOW!!! my customers and family LOVE it!

"I made two batches of sugar scrubs and though they were "fluffy" going into the jars now they are "hard" as opposed to "marshmallow cream fluffy"...is this normal behavior for a sugar scrub. I have never used one or bought one already made, so I'm not sure what to expect from a sugar scrub. Despite the firmness, it smells wonderful and feels great on my skin!"

"I made this recipe about a week and a half ago and followed it to the letter. The only thing I didn't do was add the colorant. Today when I looked at the scrub, I noticed that it is starting to change color ever so slightly from white to a yellowish color. Is this due to the fragrance oil? Is my batch ruined? I had intended to sell or use as Christmas gifts but I'm thinking I won't now. Thanks! "

"My face loves this recipe"

COMMENTS: I have made this sugar scrub several times and from time to time I change out the fragrance to orange or berries.Now I fully understand why Debbie has been making and using this scrub for over 15 years. COMMENTS: This recipe will yield 9 jars. I was able to put 9 oz in each of the jars. I also recommend adding 1 oz of sweet almond oil as this recipe thickens up quick. I think I will 2 oz of sweet almond oil next time. As other reviewers have stated, there is enough to make another batch, you just need to order more bath whip and jars. Overall great product to make and smells great.

COMMENTS: This kit was super easy to use but I didn't care for the scent that was included. The Vanilla Almond scent OOB smelled like buttered popcorn to me. I was hoping once I put it in the scrub it would change my opinion. I asked everyone in my house and no one smelled what I did, so maybe it was just me, but I will make this scrub again, just not with this scent.

COMMENTS: This kit made a lovely scrub. It has a thick fluffy consistency, like marshmallow creme, and the fragrance is wonderful. I really enjoy the texture and I hope my customers will too. This made a little extra which is great because it allowed me to fill a bunch of tiny sample jars. The only thing I would do differently would be to order a brown coloring agent as I'm not a fan of the yellowish color.

"Great Kit for those new to making scrubs"

COMMENTS: The kit had sample ingredients and leaves purchaser with extra of everything but foaming bath whip. The instructions are clear, the components of the kit are well-labeled, and it makes a good scrub. I did tweak the recipe because I found the end product to be a little harsh or drying for what my customers expect out of a sugar scrub. It's VERY cleansing, and not very scrubbing, and definitely NOT moisturizing. I also noticed there are parabens in the yellow colorant. The included sugar is super fine, and therefore not that scrubby, but is great as a fine exfoliant. All that said, this is still an excellent kit for someone's first venture into making a scrub. I would recommend it for that purpose. Here are the changes I made to the receipe: added 1.5 oz sweet almond oil and 1 oz argan oil and 2 extra cups of sugar did NOT use included colorant

COMMENTS: Wow is how I feel about this sugar scrub kit. It was easy to make but it looked like I was whipping up some marshmallow frosTing in a big bowl. It doubles in size so you actually get more out of it than it says. I am excited to try it in my shower tonight. I did wash my hands with some of the leftover product and it feels so good! COMMENTS: I loved making this scrub and watching it expand and fluff in the mixing bowl. The only problem I had was keeping myself from licking the beaters!! The smell is so yummy, and it looks so much like frosting, that one is truly tempted to taste it! I rub the scrub all over my body in the shower, and the dry bumpy spots on my upper arms have disappeared after about 10 days of using this scrub. I can't say enough good things about it!

"Heavenly"

COMMENTS: This sugar scrub smells heavenly and is a delight to use. Do not attempt to make by hand, you do need a mixing stand to make this soap. Trust me. I found that it whips up more than the recipe says. Could be I'm just slow and it is getting more mixing time? But I could have used more containers. But who is complaining about extra product to use? Not me!

COMMENTS: Kit was easy to make, but I should have listened to the directions and used my kitchen aid mixer. My arm was tired after using my hand mixer. Could have used one more container, but I'm ok with having my own sample! My husband said it smelled like I was making frosting. Great finished product very professional looking and feeling.
