Q&A

If i were to use this in my CP soap where do i actually put it? In water? Lye? Or oils? Do i need to melt it prior or can just mix it. Do i have to include this in the soapcalc or its just additives?
Palm kernel flakes are used in the with the oils and butters.
Can these be used as soap flakes to a homemade laundry detergent (powdered)
The palm kernel flakes can be used to make cold process soap that is then used in homemade laundry detergent. We do not recommend they be used directly in the laundry.
What is the usage rate for Palm Kernal Flakes if I want to use this in a hair pomade recipe?
This is something you will have to research and test.
Can this be used to replace coconout oil for a sugar scrub? Does it reharden after melting to a more soild state? I'm looking for a oil replacement that hardens for sugar and coffee scrubs, I know someone allergic to coconut. If not this can someone offer a suggestion of a hardening oil that can melt to mix but then harden when left to cool? I don't wanna use anything shea related or avocado related either thank you
No, this is not a good substitute for coconut oil. You can use regular palm oil or palm no stir!
I remembered seeing a recommendation for maximum FO for wax melts using beeswax and palm kernel oil. Now, I can't seem to find it. So, if I use 50% beeswax and 50% palm kernel, what is the maximum amount FO I should use for wax melts? I thought I remember seeing 10%. Is that correct?
A common amount of fragrance for wax melts is 6-10%. This should work for a beeswax and palm wax melt. It is also important to check the IFRA for the particular fragrance.
