Cold Process Soap Test Results:

We test fragrances with the recipe of 50% olive oil, 20% sunflower oil,
15% coconut 76, 10% shea butter, 5% castor. No water discount.

"Is this a water soluble fragrance oil that I can add to the shampoo base without separation? What can I add to the shampoo to make it more conditioning to the hair? The shampoo base alone strips the hair and leaves it really dry when I rinse it out. "

COMMENTS: I really liked this OOB, it was just a fun and juicy scent. But 3 days after cutting the bars I can’t smell it anymore. I’ll Give it a bit longer and test out a few bars but right now I’m underwhelmed.

"Pearbooo"

COMMENTS: Ok so base on the reviews, I purchased a 4oz bottle of this fragrance, which doesn’t smell awful, but also was not the fragrance I was hoping for. pear notes are there and it has a sweet freshness to it, but the berry has some strong bitter/ artificial notes that I have been unable to find away to dissipate, with using less of the oil or blending with other fragrances unfortunately, and when placed in a warmer these bitter/artificial unappealing notes become more predominant. More money in the trash. This could be amazing if sun ripen strawberry was used as the base of the berry notes.

COMMENTS: This is not a heavy fragrance very nice and light, it smells really nice. The temperature of my lye and oils were both around 88 degrees F. I did have slight ricing and heavy exceleration. I will try and adjust my recipe for the next time.

COMMENTS: I was looking for a "more fruity scent" per the request of some of my customers. I purchased this based on the great reviews and haven't been disappointed! It is a lovely scent. I honestly was skeptical after the first whiff out of the bottle but after it was in the soap I loved it. It also help up nicely through a hot gel phase and still smells great.

COMMENTS: This is the first time I have used Pearberry and I was very pleased with the scent. Customers seem to really enjoy that "first whiff" and want to try it. "Amazing scent"

COMMENTS: I LOVE this scent. It is so refreshing and yummy! It tends to be very mild and faint in the finished product, so definitely use more than .5 oz. ppo if you want the scent to come through in the soap. Behaves well though.

"Not the best and not for cold process"

COMMENTS: Out of the bottle, this fragrance smells great. But it can not be used well with cold process. It messed up my batches and the fragrance morphed bad in cold process. I had to use an entire 4oz bottle for a 4 pound batch and its barely there and does not smell like the bottle. It messed up the loaf so bad I had to rebatch it AND add more fragrance AGAIN. I would only recommend this with lotions and the such.

"Nice but accelerated on me"

COMMENTS: The scent OOB and in freshly-poured CP soap is nice, nothing great imo. Unlike so many other reviewers who didn't have any trouble, my CP batter started to accelerate the second I added this FO. I soap in the 80s temperature and with a little bit of a water discount, but nothing severe. Anyway, working fast, I managed to separate the batter into cups and stir in colorant (adding that extra mica in oil helped loosen things up a little), and got a plop-and-hanger swirl accomplished. But I will be extra cautious next time I use this FO.

"yummy smelling"

COMMENTS: I used this is cold process cupcakes and it turned out juicy and lush smelling. I had to remind people it was soap and not to eat it! :) I will be back for more of this scent. It would also work for a kid fragrance as well. it turned out to be white after curing, which I didn't mind because I added blue sparkles on top to give it some variation.

COMMENTS: This is another fragrance must-have!!! I have placed a 2nd order for this amazing scent as I just can't get enough of it, and neither can my customers. If possible, it is perfectly perfect! Behaved very well, and has an amazing scent retention (one of the best at that). I did not experience any trouble whilst soaping with the CP method, and it gave me time to make a drop swirl. Overall, it is just wonderful!!

"Overall good fragrance"

COMMENTS: I have never smelled B&B Works pearberry so do not know how it compares. felt the scent was somewhat generic yet pleasing and I pick up the pear mixed with a floral fruitiness. Performed well in cold process but did notice a slight acceleration yet I was still able to do a two color pour with a pencil line between by moving fast. Next time I will use no water discount to try to increase working time. Easy to unmold, No discoloration noted within first few days of curing. Scent is delicate at 1 oz per pound. Overall it seems unisex and generally pleasing to most people who smell it

I fell in love with Bath & Body Work's Pearberry from the beginning and panicked when they discontinued that scent over a decade ago. I stocked up on pearberry body splash I found on eBay years ago and have been searching for something similar since I was down to my last bottle. "Pleasantly surprised"

COMMENTS: I bought this based on a suggestion from another soaper online. I'm not big on apple or pear scents but felt like stepping out of my like zone. Out of bottle it smells nice but nothing that says wow to me. I did not smell any of the berry part of this fragrance oil. I made this soap in the spring of 2014 and it has been curing for over 5 months. I had actually forgotten about it. I put it in my bathroom to use at the sink. It has impressed me more than I can put into words. When it hits the water it has that perfect "soap" scent. I love the scent that it leaves on my hands and skin. This is definitely a keeper and I will be making more of this one. I may change the name but it is very good. It behaved well in soap and did not discolor at all.

"One of my favorites"

COMMENTS: Love the clean fresh smell that stays for hours. This is one of my go to fragrance in the spring and summer, but love it when I need something fresh in the winter.

"Pearberry Review"

COMMENTS: I used this fragrance in cold process soap, using French Pink Clay and French Green Clay with a tiny touch of green chrome oxide to produce pale green, and added Himalayan Pink Salts for added texture in the soap. This fragrance has long been a famers market favorite, but I had problems with ricing when using another company's fragrance. My customers are educated and want natural color and quality oils, so I have to limit the amount of dye I use. This Pearberry performs beautifully in CP, with no ricing or acceleration. The clays work well in the oil, and do not change to another color or turn muddy. Himalayan Pink Salts have 84 minerals and elements, making them a very nutritious add-in and selling point for customers. They also form a small "berry" in the soap. A small sprinkle of medium grain is enough. I use 41 ounce molds, 50% coconut, the rest is olive, sunflower, avocado, sesame and castor. It's a fast seller. I work a little pink into the top to form my version of a pear. The scent holds up over a long period, and I've never had to throw out any Pearberry soap because of rancidity. My customers do not want preservatives, chemicals or dyes. Teen girls and young women love this fragrance!

"Excellent for CP "

COMMENTS: I used this in coconut milk CP soap, worked beautifully. No acceleration. I was able to pull of a beautiful 3 color swirl with no problems. The scent is amazing too. I will definitely be back for more of this.

	"CP soap and soy candles! WOW!"
COMMENTS: right on the money in my opinion. It does ecellerate cp soap just a bit, so I add it at light trace and work quickly. Pearberry makes a wonderfully fruity soap, but not over powering and sickly sweet. It has a wonderful hot and cold through in soy candles and isn't over powering at all. Great FO!!
