can I add alum powder to the soap base? How

No, alum powder should not be added to melt & pour soap. It reacts with the soap ingredients to create a heavy, unappealing scum or a thick, unusable gel-like separation.

If using this in a foaming scrub, can the pH be dropped to approximately pH6 when using this soap base?

We haven't tested this but you most likely would not be able to add enough to significantly lower the overall formulation to your desired pH.

Could this be used in a facial cleansing bar?

This soap has not been tested to be used in a facial cleaner. but we do have a recipe called Sea Clay Facial Bar Kit, the soap in that base can be used in a facial bar.
