Q&A

Do you find that this works great in body wash formulations like Olivem 1000?
We have not tested this in body washes, however, Yes, you can use Ritamulse SCG Emulsifying Wax in body washes as a substitute for Olivem 1000, as both are considered effective natural emulsifiers suitable for liquid soap formulations, including body washes; Ritamulse even has the added benefit of being a plant-derived option with Ecocert certification.
Since the data sheet is not available are the ingredients in percentages of 50%, 20% and 10% ? Thanks in adavnce.
Hi, The formula is proprietary information.
What are the percentages used of the individual ingredients to make this emulsifying blend?
The composition is listed in section 3 of the SDS.Glyceryl Stearate >50%Cetearyl Alcohol >20%Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate >10%
What's the best fatty thickener to use for a cream? Using this at 9% I still need a fatty thickener to make this a cream. This ratio makes a thinner lotion not a thick cream like I'm aiming for. Since it has Cetearyl Alcohol I don't want to use Cetyl Stearyl or Cetearyl Alcohol since it has Cetearyl in the emulsifier. I'd worry about soaping. Thank you!
It depends on the viscosity you are looking for. Recommendations are: Emulsifying Wax - Traditional, Crafters Choice™ Emulsifying Wax - Soft & Silky or try the Emulsifying Wax Sample Set. Last for a thick but not as thick you can try, Crafters Choice™ Cetyl Alcohol Flakes.
Can this be used in a oil only formula?
If you are not using water and oil together an emulsifier is not needed.
