Directions

Slowly stir into the water portion of your formulation. Common uses for this product are linen and iron spray (80-100%), lotions, shampoos, shower gels and liquid washes (5-20%), toners and masks (15-50%). Hydrosols can be used directly on the skin without dilution. Hydrosols are water soluble and a lighter aroma than essential oils. Test your final product to insure optimal performance.

Q&A

Can this be added to a Lotion base? What would the recommended usage rate be? Also, should an additional preservative be used?: Hydrosols are water-based, and any time you add more water to a pre-made lotion base you risk not having enough preservative and/or you risk causing the emulsion to break. We do not recommend adding hydrosols to the lotion base, but you can certainly test. If you are making lotion from scratch, you could incorporate into the water phase of the formula.
Can I use this on my hair without adding anything to it?: Yes, you can use this directly on your hair.
How pure are your Hydrosol products?: This is not something that can be tested, you can view the SDS or request a COA for detailed information on the makeup of the product.
I was told not to add any water products to melt and pour, but one person asked if you could add this to m&p and you said yes. Should I add a preservative into my base? And how much of this per pound of soap?: While we don't like to recommend it, it can be done in small amounts. If adding, we would definitely keep it under 3% as any more can affect the hardness and lather of soap.
If I'm making a toning spray at 50% cortisol and 50% Distilled Water, how much potassium sorbate do I need?Can I use 100% cortisol without a preservative?: This is something you have to calculate and formulate on your own as we do not carry cortisol and we are unfamiliar with this type of formulation.
