"What is the exact ASM for this product? The SDS sheet states 60-90, which is quite a large range. One would never be able to accurately formulate a shampoo bar. It could not clean or be over cleansing. Does your supplier have a more accurate amount?"

"I am looking for milder sulfates to put into some of my recipes that currently use SLSa. Once the noodles are ground up into a powder, would I use the same amount as I would of the SLSa? e.g. recipe calls for 0.5oz of SLSa, would I use 0.5oz of the powdered noodles? "Is this the same thing as coco-glucoside? If so, why would you add this and sodium cocoyl isethionate to the same recipe? Wouldn't one or the other be sufficient? (The recipe also contains BTMS-25, cocoa butter, dehyquart F75 or extra 10 g BTMS-25, citric acid, coco-caprylate, and provitamin B5.) Does this sound right? Thanks so much for your help - I'd be lost without you guys!"

"Hi! I am working on formulating a men's shaving cream recipe and am interested in experimenting with incorporating this in to add more sudsy foamy lather. I don't have any experience with this type of ingredient. My shaving cream recipe is basically an emulsified lotion formulation. Would I dissolve this into the water-based portion of the recipe? (I am using witch hazel, aloe gel and castile soap here) Also, what usage rate would you recommend for this application? Thanks!"

"HI WSP! :) I have started making pressed syndet bars, but am finding more recipes for melted and poured versions. I was concerned about heating SCS (and SCI, SLSa, etc.), and am investigating the SDS sheets. This says to avoid heat and had some concerning info in the SDS regarding heat. Should this product not be heated? Thank you so much for the help!"

"In another question someone states the pH of the needles is 6.5, although the MSDS states 7.5 - 10.5. That's quite a large gap, does the pH differ that much from batch to batch? Most SCS needles I've purchased seems to have a pH closer to 10. Any clarification would be appreciated, thank you! "

COMMENTS: I used it recently for first time in a dish paste. It helps it to lather and it is gentle but cleans well. Love it. Will buy more. Wish you offered a 3 lb bulk discount. 1# is not enough and 5 # is too much!

"Long melting time"

COMMENTS: In can be melted in water or bubble up it has a high ph so watch out if making shampoo bars may need citric acid solution to lower ph plus it takes FOREVER for these things to melt.
