This lotion base can be used as-is or customized by stirring in color and up to 3% fragrance or essential oils—no heating or machine mixing required. Because the base is white and odor-free, only a small amount of colorant or scent is needed. If adding carrier oils, keep additions under 2% to maintain thickness and stability, and avoid heating above 104°F (40°C) to prevent separation. Always test small batches first, as changes in additives can affect viscosity over time.
