Product Details

Walnut Oil is very high in Vitamin C which is thought to aid in the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines by supplying the skin with nutrients and vitamins. Walnut Oil is thought to add moisturizing attributes to formulations. Quick drying.

Common Uses:
Cold & Hot Process Soap. Lotions. Scrubs.

Staff Answer Hi Cheryl - What kind of product are you making? If it is one of our recipes, which one? We have quite a few base oils that can work as substitutions, but would like a little more information to direct to the best choice. :-)

It was the Oatmeal & Aloe Lotion. It says to add Walnut Oil, so I was wondering since I have some customers that are allergic to Nuts what I can replace the Walnut Oil with. Thanks, Cheryl

Staff Answer I’m not seeing Walnut Oil on the ingredient list for this recipe. Is this the same one you are referring to? Click Here. Anyways, in a lotion with walnut oil, Rice Bran Oil or Rose Hip Seed Oil would be good substitutions. Please keep in mind that we haven’t tested these substitutions in your recipe so cannot 100% guarantee a positive result.

"Great Facial Oil"

COMMENTS: I originally bought this oil to use in sugar scrubs, and I love it in this application. It's rich enough without being greasy. But I've also been using this as a facial oil and it's fabulous! It absorbs wonderfully and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. It does have a slight smell, nothing noxious but noticeable. Still, love this oil and it's a great price.

"Smells funny, but awesome for skin"

COMMENTS: It may have a slightly funky smell to it - a little bit like tallow or lard- but it plays well in almost every product I've put it in (there may have been an epic fail trying to use it as the main oil in a massage blend, just because of the weird smell). the smell mellows out a lot when combined with cocoa butter, and plays really nicely with syrupy scents. Has NOT played nicely with light, bright green scents. I've been using it in formulas for mature and extraordinarily dry skin, and have gotten tons of great feed back. All in all, for something that I can safely say is my favorite "secret ingredient", it's worth the fight to cover up that odd smell!
