Honey 'n Oats Cold Process Soap

To propylene pitcher, add water. Slowly add lye to water stirring as you pour. Set aside to cool.

To metal pot, add coconut oil, shea butter, sunflower oil, babassu oil, evening primrose and castor oil. Heat on stove top until all ingredients are liquid.

To beaker, pour small amount of melted oils and add mica powder. Mix well.

To second beaker, mix fragrance and stabilizer together and allow to sit for at least two minutes.

Using a small food processor, grind oatmeal until almost a powder.

When oil mixture and lye mixture are both 120ºF, slowly pour lye mixture into oil mixture. Usingstick blender, mix until light trace is reached.

Add fragrance mixture and hand stir with stick blender. Then briefly stick blend.

Pour about half of batter into funnel pitcher or plastic container, then add color mixture. Blend in with spatula then briefly stick blend.

To remaining batter add ground oatmeal and blend with a few bursts of the stick blender.

Pour some oatmeal batter into mold, then follow with colored batter. Keep alternating batter until mold is filled to the top.

Using a wooden dowel, drag it back and forth through the batter, going one way then the other.

After 24 hours, remove soap from mold and slice into bars. Allow soap to cure for 4-6 weeks.

Label product accordingly.
