"I made about 6 of these ""Do Not Bug Me"" sprays for my Brother and my Boyfriend to take with them camping. They all loved the scent and instead of using the store brand bug repellent, they all used this spray. Yes it worked - no bugs! "I had some reservations when I first ordered this kit. At first I only ordered only one kit and gave my husband who is an avid rafter a bottle to test on a river trip. The mosquitos on the Colorado River can be RUTHLESS, but a few sprays in the air and application on the skin - they didn't bother him. Even more fantastic I was able to test the product again later this summer on the river and sure enough - those biting buggers stayed away for the most part! I was even able to convert ""Only Deet Works"" people into ""I'll take the Non-Toxic but effective"" believers! An effective bug spray doesn't need to be toxic, sticky, and pore clogging to be effective!!! t've since bought several kits to replenish my stock of products."

Q&A

Can this product be used to make into a solid cream repellent vs a liquid one by adding some additional ingredients?
This is something you will have to formulate and test.
Is this ok to spray around pets?
Eucalyptus is considered not safe for pets so we do not recommend spraying this on or around animals.
Can you substitute the soybean oil for fractionated Coconut oil?
Soybean oil is thought to have natural bug repellent properties so that is why it is used in this recipe. You can choose to use another oil if you like.

This should work in a roll on bottle but it would need to be tested. I have tried making a spray with a Carrier oil before and the oil clogged up the spray, does soybean oil work well in a sprat bottle?!
We have not had a problem with this recipe in a spray bottle.
