Bitter Almond Essential Oil

"Best Almond Fragrance available!!! I mix this with a little regular Almond FO, and the blend is fabulous. I have been using this since I started making soap in 2002. Used with the Honey and Goat milk M&P bases. My best seller!"

Dorothy (5/5)

love this scent

"I love the fact it's all natural scent, this is a big winner for me. I didn't notice a little goes along way, I had to add as much as any other scent. Would buy it again, but would wait for sale."

Cherry almond scent

"This is a strong fragrance. . . a little goes a long way, so I usually use less fragrance per pound of cold-process soap (. 43oz/lb) than my normal recipe, so as not to overpower. This scent can smell a bit chemically out of bottle, but once it is cured in soap it becomes a lovely light cherry almond, like the favorite lotion my mom loves! I like that this is a more natural fragrance, since it uses some bitter almond components. While the almond soap I make is not among my best-sellers, it has its fans, so I am a repeat orderer of this fragrance."

Fantastic Almond Scent

"This almond eo is the perfect scent in my cp honey almond soap. I also use it in my almond lip balms and I sell out at every show. I would recommend it to anyone needing a great almond scent."

Q&A

Thanks for your answer, I have used it over the usage of .10 with no problem. I know it won't break the base, I am just not sure for skin exposure if it is a good idea. I have used for a few years on and off and have not had a problem at 1 to 2% in 100 gram lotions. I am usually sizing up too with my batches. I was just not sure how the maximum level is decided, and if it is skin exposer or braking the base? Thx
There can be irritation with the skin. I would review the SDS for any concerns you may have for going over recommended percentages.
Can you really only use .10 grams (.10%) in a 100 gram batch of lotion. I used more not realizing… I usually use at least 1% or 1 gram. I love the smell, one of my favorites, but have to use more for the smell to come through. I have used for years with no issues…
I do not advise to go over the recommended amount because it can break the base down
Can this be used in a whipped soap base?
You can find usage rates on the IFRA document found on the product page. For a whipped soap base use Category 9. The percentage of this fragrance would be 1%.
Can these natural fragrance oils be used in wax melts?
Yes, this can be used in wax melts.
Is bitter almond essential oil in this blend rectified to remove prussic acid?
There is no prussic acid in this oil.
