Cut soap base into small pieces, and melt in the microwave at 30-second intervals (or use a double boiler), stirring until fully liquefied. Once melted, add cosmetic color, fragrance, and other skin-safe additives—this base can hold up to 5% total additives—then pour the mixture into a Crafter’s Choice mold and spritz the surface with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles. Allow the soap to cool completely before unmolding, then wrap it in airtight plastic wrap to preserve freshness. Melted soap is hot and should be used with caution; recommended for ages 15 and older.

Can I add other ingredients to this base (colloidal oats, shea butter, etc) to customize it into my own blend? Ie; if I add colloidal oatmeal, can I label as Detergent Free Oatmeal Soap, or Detergent Free Shea Butter Soap if adding Shea Butter?: You can add colloidal oat meal,We do carry Detergent free oatmeal soap and Detergent free shea butter
After unpacking the soap from the blue bag, I cut it into small chunks. During that process, I noticed it was sticky/oily. After making the soap and cutting into bars, it is still sticky/oily. Is that normal for this base?: If working in a humid environment, melt & pour soap can "sweat." This is normal and is just due to the glycerin content. Make sure to keep stored in an airtight container.
Is this a low sweat soap? How should melt and pour soap be cured before packaging to avoid sweating?: Our detergent-free soaps are low sweat. While you don't have to wrap this soap, we do recommend packaging in shrink wrap after unmolding. This will keep the ends open, while preventing fingerprints on the soap.
Could you tell me the shelf life of this in the box?Thank you: Soap really has an indefinite shelf-life. Over may years, it may dehydrate but it does not go bad. If it does dry out, simply add about 1 tablespoon of water to 1 lb. of melted soap and that will rehydrate it.
Is this soap base vegan? Tks: Yes, this is considered a vegan soap base.
