Staff Answer Dipropylene Glycol is water soluble. Depending on the product you are making, you could add an emulsifier or solubilizer to help mix ingredients.

Staff Answer We do not recommend using DPG in your bath bombs but you might try using Shea 50 as a wetting agent. We find it works very well and you do not need to add Polysorbate 80 if using it.

Staff Answer You will need to do some research on this. In doing our own research, it was recommended to just use DPG and a fragrance oil for burning, mixed 1:1. Others suggested using 91% rubbing alcohol. You may need to test for yourself to see what works best for you.

"Can this be used to dilute Crafter's Choice fragrance or essential oil to make a (skin safe) perfume oil and if so, what percentage of fragrance oil should I add to get 8oz of perfume oil?"

Staff Answer We believe what you want to do is make a perfume oil using DPG and fragrance. DPG is a water-based product and will not mix well with fragrance oils. You would need to use either Polysorbate 20, 80 or our FO and EO Modifier to help the ingredients blend together. the amount of fragrance added depends on the IFTA guidelines for the fragrance you are using. Based on that, you would add that percentage for perfume to 8 oz. of base. Of course, testing your product is always necessary.

"Your information says will not mix with most oils. Can this be used as a refresher oil for potpourri and as a burning oil in warmers? Most recipes indicate the usage of this product and the fragrance oil(no water) so I am a bit confused by the statement. "

Yes, you can use this for a potpourri oil and a burning oil. If you are using a fragrance oil, you should use 50% of a carrier oil (Dipropylene Glycol) and 50% fragrance. So if you were to make 2 oz of scented oil you would use 1 oz of fragrance oil and 1 oz of Dipropylene Glycol. If you are using Essential Oils the recipe would just about be all carrier oil with a few drops of essential oil. Hope this helps!

Staff Answer We have tested this product mixed 50/50 with a fragrance oil and found that the two products do not blend together. They will mix at the beginning but over time they will separate. For this reason our description states that the DPG does not mix with most oils. That being said, many people do still use DPG in oil warmers and potpourri.

Staff Answer Yes, this can be. We have not tested it for that, but we have a review that has used this with their Body Spray/perfume with success. Per our directions, in cosmetics you can use 1-20%. Maybe start low, 1-5% and see if you like it in your body spray recipe. If so, you can increase the percentage until you get the exact consistency you like.

"Is one gallon of this 8.5 pounds or 7 pounds? In the description it says 1 gal=8.5 pounds, but in the price choices it says 7 pounds.....just trying to find my price per ounce......Thanks!"

This product weighs more by weight, than measure, so 128 ounces by volume weighs 8.5 pounds by weight.

Staff Answer Our products are filled by weight rather than volume. One gallon bottle, or 128 fluid oz. would weigh 8.5 lbs. We however sell it in a 7 lb. size, so the gallon jug will not quite be filled to the top.
