Gently warm the base to 120°F and stir in cosmetic-grade fragrance and FDA-approved color, staying within IFRA guidelines and the product’s 4% maximum fragrance load. Pipe or scoop into containers, allow to cool to room temperature, then cap and label as required. Do not exceed the maximum heating temperature for more than 5 minutes, as this can weaken the preservative system; adding more than 5% total additives will also dilute the preservative and require additional protection. Too much color will cause the lotion to lose its white appearance, and too much fragrance may thin the product.

Very good, not quite perfect due to thin texture

"I love that my skin likes this one, but it's not quite perfect. As a face cream, it's a bit thinner than I like. I only added a bit of scent, and I feel I need to add some kind of butter or even xanthan gum, which I didn't have on hand, to make it creamier and thicker. Maybe it's too much water in the formulation? I honestly would prefer to buy a heavy cream that needs to be mixed with distilled water, so I can control the texture. But this does feel nice. I think that it would make a really great baby cream, however, especially since it's unscented."
