Staff Answer None of our fragrance oils should be used directly on the skin unless the IFRA sheet states safe at 100% skin contact. The IFRA sheet for each fragrance is located on the "Documents" tab of the product page (to the left of this Q/A tab).

It is NOT advised to ever put an FO or EO directly on the skin!

It says it should not be applied directly to the skin, if I get any on my hands while working with it, I wash it off with soap and warm water. FO's contain a lot of synthetic ingredients which could be harmful or irritating in larger doses.

No... you should not add any fragrance oil directly to your skin. If you are looking for an application that you can put on your skin, check out the recipe section of the site. You can also purchase carrier oils which will dilute the fragrance oil to a safer level for your skin.

No you should not. Your best bet is to purchase a Body Splash base (or another base WSP offers to put FOs in), and then you can put that on your skin (following the dilution directions, of course).

"The scent is not truly Jasmine"

"Not a true jasmine scent "

COMMENTS: To be honest I haven’t even soaped with this yet.. Oob I am so utterly disappointed in the scent upon opening. My plans for my products are a total bust now. This smells awful. I’m surprised this has so many positive reviews. This was my first time not using authentic jasmine and I’ve learned my lesson. Also my first time leaving a negative review. I assure you it’s an honest one. Waste of my money... I won’t use this.

Hi Krissie, You are right - this is not a true jasmine scent. Our Jasmine* Fragrance Oil is comparable to Bath & Body Works' Jasmine scent. You can always spot comparable fragrances by the "*" following the name. "Strong at Recommended Levels"

COMMENTS: My customers LOVED this fragrance oil!!! I was a bit surprised by this. I felt it was soapy smelling, strong, and smelled nothing like jasmine. Just goes to show you that what you like may not be what your customers like. I feel this fragrance is too strong for the recommended levels.

"old lady smell"

"Strong, true to jasmine scent"

COMMENTS: I really love the smell of this scent. If I'm making something with it it is smelled all over the apartment, which I love. I have had alot of ricing in cold process soap. Still trying to try new things to see if I can get around that.

"Beautiful fragrance"

COMMENTS: I love this fragrance! Not so happy about the Ricing and Acceleration In Cold Process Soap. I was able to work it out, (at a really fast pace) with a stick blender. And it was worth it! The fragrance has held great in cold process and no discoloration. I believe the recommended rate is something like 5.5% to 7%. I soaped at 5%, and room temp, 75 degrees, the sample I left plain, no colorant, it turned to a medium tan. It’s a fun fragrance to work with.

"My mom thought it was the real thing"

"My all time favorite scent"

COMMENTS: This scent is awesome. I have used it in my melt and pour with no problems. It smells exactly like Jasmine flowers. Now, when I used this in my cold process, it kind of beaded up and is actually yellow. So, be careful. Even though its a great smelling fragrance and yes, I would buy it again; it will turn up yellow in you cold process soap.

COMMENTS: Love this smell!! Unfortunately it didn't soap very well; riced, accelerated as do most floral scents. The scent stayed very true through saponification and cure and lingers on the skin after a shower or bath. Will buy again. "Strong Scent"

COMMENTS: I grew up in a house where we had night blooming Jasmine bushes in our yard. They were planted underneath our windows and spread like wildfire. I remember the beautiful jasmine scent that would waft throughout the house as the breeze would blow. This scent is almost spot on, but not exactly the same. It seems a bit stronger and a bit sharper. I do like it however. I think with this scent there will be a specific clientele who love it and can't get enough. And some who won't like it at all. WSP, do you have any recommendations of other FO's it can be blended with to give it a softer scent? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. I do highly recommend if you have clients asking for Jasmine. Very close match to the real thing.

WSP Response:

For a softer scent you could try blending this FO with vanilla or perhaps our Rice Flower & Shea Fragrance Oil. We also carry a Jasmine Vanilla Fragrance Oil that is similar to this one, but the vanilla helps to soften it. We hope this helps!

COMMENTS: I blended this scent with hyacinth and it is just like being a spring garden filled with sweet aroma of both flowers. Absolutely delightful. I will add a tale of caution. I had measured this plus the hyacinth FO together into a plastic cup. As I mixed my oils, I looked over and discovered that the plastic cup was GONE and a puddle of FO all over my counter. COMMENTS: I do love this fragrance, and it smells very much like the Now brand Jasmine mixed florals. It worked well in CP soap too, with no acceleration. I used pink clay and Himalayan pink salts for a solid color pink soap. It is a beauty and will make a nice gift for someone. I used this in a 42 ounce mold and achieved a light Jasmine fragrance. For a stronger scent, you will need about 2 1/2 ounces of fragrance.
