I used this in a deodorant recipe and used a whisk to stir for approximately 5 minutes. When I poured my last container there was a lot of magnesium stearate at the bottom. What do I need to do to ensure the magnesium stearage mixes in? Do I need to use an electric blender, increase the temperature, whisk for X period of time? Thank you.: Magnesium Stearate is a tough ingredient to incorporate and you may have trouble if usage is too high or if the blender is not strong enough. You can try to increase temperature slightly or decreasing the usage rate. Another technique is to blend small amounts at a time.
Would this perform a similar function as sodium stearate in a deodorant formulation. Currently I use the sodium stearate as a gelling agent along with 1,3 propandiol to create my stick base. Considering it is another salt form of stearic acid and a metal soap I would gather with would function similarly.: We do not carry Sodium Stearate so we do not have any experience formulating with this unfortunately. Based on properties it may perform similarly but you would need to test for your specific formula.
