Lye

"Have come to really like the flaked lye. Will keep buying!"

Kris H. (5/5)

Not pure

"I've used this brand several times with cloudy results. I thought it was something I was doing wrong but after adding 1/4 of a teaspoon 3 times over the past month, I'm finally getting clear soap. The liquid soap recipe I've been testing with is basic and doesn't call for butters which would cause cloudiness. Just be aware that you may need to add more than required for full suponification."

Sorry, we cannot say for certain as our lye calculator only has one option. You may find asking in our facebook group, Soap Makers Plus, can help. The purity percent of our potassium hydroxide is 86.5% if this helps.
Where can I find an expiration date of Potassium Hydroxide? Is there even an amount of time where it isn't good to use anymore? Thanks!
We guarantee on year after ship date. After that, we recommend testing in a small batch.
I have 2 lbs of potassium hydroxide that I will not be using. How can I safely dispose of this?
You will have to contact your local waste management team as each county has different guidelines.
