Directions

Start with the spray base at room temperature and add up to 1% fragrance, first pre-mixing the fragrance or essential oil with a solubilizer such as Polysorbate 20 or FO & EO Modifier. Add optional additives within recommended usage rates, then stir gently until fully uniform, avoiding vigorous shaking to prevent bubbles. Transfer the finished mixture into clean, dry bottles and label for use; note that colorants are not recommended and vanillin-containing fragrances may require a vanilla stabilizer.

Can I use the FO Modifier instead of PS20 with my fragrance? If so, what ratio would you recommend and does this base support it?: Yes, you can use FO & EO Modifier instead of Polysorbate 20. The recommended usage rate is 4 parts FO Modifier to 1 part oil based FO. Add 1% modified fragrance to water based products.
I'm planning on making my own linen sprays and would like to use this as a base. Would it be okay to add any F.O.? (I would like to use Nantucket Briar* Fragrance Oil 350). If so, how much would I need to use? Would a 2 or 4oz FO bottle be fine for the 1lb?Thank you: Yes, when adding a fragrance oil to this base, you will need to use Polysorbate 20 at a 1:1 ratio with the fragrance oil. Please note that this base can accommodate up to 5% total additives, which includes both the Polysorbate 20 and the fragrance oil. A 2 oz bottle will be suitable for this purpose.
