Reviews

Very nice light oil !

"I just purchased and made CP soap, Aloe Vera gel lotion and Shampoo and conditioner bars with this beautiful oil. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad I did. Absorbs into the skin fast, barely any scent."

Smells funny, but awesome for skin

"It may have a slightly funky smell to it - a little bit like tallow or lard- but it plays well in almost every product I've put it in (there may have been an epic fail trying to use it as the main oil in a massage blend, just because of the weird smell). the smell mellows out a lot when combined with cocoa butter, and plays really nicely with syrupy scents. Has NOT played nicely with light, bright green scents. I've been using it in formulas for mature and extraordinarily dry skin, and have gotten tons of great feed back. All in all, for something that I can safely say is my favorite ""secret ingredient"", it's worth the fight to cover up that odd smell!"

Briana (5/5)

wonderful oil

"I have never used walnut oil before. I ordered a small bottle & made a facial oil. I absolutely love this oil. It doesn't have a strong smell & it is thick but not sticky thick. I have many plans for this oil. It is pricey but not much is needed."

Risa (5/5)

Walnut Oil

"Use in facial moisturizers. . . skin softening and moisturizing!"

Q&A

What does quick drying mean? By itself, in a product, or? You later mention it leaves a slightly oily feel on the skin. That doesnt seem to jibe with quick drying.
This oil is absorbed quickly into the skin and does not leave a greasy after-feel. We have adjusted the answer to a previous question.
Is this oil refined? Does it have the full smell of walnut oil?
This oil is refined, bleached, deodorized and winterized. It does not have any odor.
Can this be used in melt and pour soap?
Adding oils to MP soap will cut down on the lather for that soap. If you choose to add this, we recommend a very small amount.
Could you please let me know the Soapmaking [trace, hardness, bubble density, stability, after touch, cleansing] and the Cosmetic: lotion, massage, lip, scrub: [absorption, glide, after touch, color] characteristics of Walnut oil. Please add it to your Fixed Oil & Butters Properties chart. Thanks, Jan
If you look at our Lye Calculator and click Walnut Oil, it will give you the soap qualities for this oil: http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/calculators/SoapCalcWP.aspx. For other cosmetics, it is a wonderful moisturizer which is absorbed quickly and does not leave a greasy feel on the skin. The color shown in the picture is an accurate color.
If your some of your customers are allergic to Nuts what can I replace the Walnut Oil with?
I'm not seeing Walnut Oil on the ingredient list for this recipe. Is this the same one you are referring to? Click Here. Anyways, in a lotion with walnut oil, Rice Bran Oil or Rose Hip Seed Oil would be good substitutions. Please keep in mind that we haven't tested these substitutions in your recipe so cannot 100% guarantee a positive result.
