Increasing this to 75% would give you a thinner lotion. You would need to put the percentages into the Batch Calculator to get the new recipe. You can play with the numbers to equal 100% by slightly decreasing the Argan Oil, E-Wax and Stearic. We would recommend increasing the preservative to 1% - it is currently being used

Staff Answer Phenonip is insoluble in water and will not work with this recipe. You need to use one that works for products containing water and follow the directions for that particular preservative.

Staff Answer We are so glad you like this recipe. If the lotion seems too thick, you might try using a pump in your bottles. Once the lotion is made, you cannot thin it out. Adding additional water would break down the emulsion. If making the recipe again, you can add additional water but you also need to add additional preservative.

Staff Answer WSP actually carries 3 different emulsifying waxes and they are all slightly different. Traditional provides a protective feel to lotions. Soft & Silky gives the lotion a silky feel and a lighter product. Conditioning also will give a silky feel but will tend to stay on skin longer (great in winter). Any of these can be used in a lotion recipe, it just depends on how you want the lotion to feel on your skin.

Staff Answer We prefer warming the water before adding to the warmed oils/butters so the emulsifying wax does not harden from the cold water before it has a chance to emulsify to make the lotion. We have changed this recipe to warm the water before adding to oils/butters. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
