Reviews

so good!

"I mix this with orange and clove to create a lump of coal soap. Adds just the right amount of smokiness."

leaked frangrance

"this frangrance leaked all in my package."

Great Scent

"I used in cold process soap and it was good. The scent was not overpowering and had a nice scent. I made my son a batch of soap and asked him which scent he wanted and he picked this one. I plan on using it even now after Christmas."

Dead-on scent

"I was intrigued by this scent, and finally ordered some. It's nice! Smells just like a fire on a cold night--it also is working well for me as an addition to other fragrances. I added some to a Caribbean Coconut/vanilla soap and the bars smell divine. My dad also fell in love with Crackling Firewood added to a pine FO in a body soap. He said it reminded him of the scent of fireplaces outdoors in the mountains."

Sadly, safety sheet reveals toxicity

"Not sure about others, but reading the safety sheet info takes the joy out of using this product. H400: Very Toxic to aquatic lifeAquatic Chronic Toxicity, Category 2 H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects"

Great with Wood Wicks

"This scent in a rustic jar with a wood wick is great! One of my best sellers last winter."

Trippy

"This scent really does smell just like a crackling fire - it's bizarre! I don't know how they get it to smell just like that and people ask me all the time what I do to my candles to make them smell so authentically like a fire. Crafters Choice magic. (This is a very powerful scent and will make your whole house - and likely, you too! - smell like it for hours immediately after you have used it in an application. I went into my classroom after using it and smelled like a forest fire all day!)"

Sadly, a No

"I wanted to like this so much, but can't. One of those in my collection that never gets used."

Goldie (2/5)

winter fragrance

"Great CP fragrance oil. Very well-behaved; no acceleration, I had plenty of time to do a multi-color swirl at a light trace. Discolored to a light brown, perfect to compliment the scent. The scent is wonderful- very smoky and comforting at the same time. A great winter fragrance!"

Thanks, I hate it.

"There has been exactly one fragrance I legit could not stand, and this is it. I store this one separate from all my others in case it's contagious. It's less 'smoke' than 'raspberry syrup burnt onto a cast iron pan with notes of migraines. ' Everyone's nose is different, and some people have found the resultant soap not unpleasant, but, uh, try it before you commit to it."

Q&A

Does this smell like actual fire? I have purchased a couple different ones and they end up smelling like cologne.
We think this has a good smokey smell to it. Smells pretty close to burning wood. However, every nose is different. We Always recommend when interested in a scent, to purchase the 2oz size to see if it will be something you may like.
Can This fragrance be used in candles? I have a customer that wants it in candles to give out as gifts so I told her that I would check with you guys.
Yes, you can use this fragrance in candles. You would use the same amount normally used for your particular candle wax.
My husband LOVES the Fireside fragrance sold by Brambleberry. Unfortunately that's the only thing I buy from them. Does this smell close enough to that fragrance that I can get rid of brambleberry all together?
We are not familiar with other suppliers fragances so we cannot say if this is similar. You would need to purchase a 2 oz. size to see how close it is.
Would like to add this fragrance to salts! Should I still use stabilizer to the fragrance oil. If so, which one and what would you recommend?
This fragrance oil contains 5% Vanilla so I would recommend using the stabilizer for CP Soap due to the average ph level of salts. If you do not use a stabilizer your salts may turn brown over time.
Is this fragrance and others in this range suitable for making room sprays?
Section 11.A.2 of the IFRA document will list any restrictions for Fragrance oil use in Air Fresheners. There are no restrictions for this Fragrance, but you need to check each fragrance oil individually for restrictions.
