Cut soap base into small pieces, and melt in the microwave at 30-second intervals (or use a double boiler), stirring until fully liquefied. Once melted, add cosmetic color, fragrance, and other skin-safe additives—this base can hold up to 5% total additives—then pour the mixture into a Crafter’s Choice mold and spritz the surface with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles. Allow the soap to cool completely before unmolding, then wrap it in airtight plastic wrap to preserve freshness. Melted soap is hot and should be used with caution; recommended for ages 15 and older.

Difficult to color this base

"The feel of this soap is wonderful, but it is SO difficult to color with accuracy. The color fades so much after the soap hardens and I have to melt the soap AGAIN and color if further. I also have to use so much color. I was hoping to carry natural bases from now on, but this is just too time consuming for a busy business."

Three Butter M&P soap base

"I love this soap base. It is so easy to work with and reminds me of CP. I don't have any problems with it sweating. It creates a lovely lather and bubbles. It is very moisturizing to the skin. If you get the temperature just right you can create a fairly good swirl like CP. Just be sure and cover with plastic wrap while waiting for it to reach the right temp, to keep it from getting the film on the top."

Sweats

"I like how there are 3 rich butters in this melt and pour soap base but I have noticed this does sweat quickly, even when this was wrapped in cling wrap and also shrink wrap. I am not sure if all detergent free soap bases are low sweat as some say they are and some are not listed as low sweat. Doubt I would purchase this again as I need a low sweat base as my soap is sold in a nearby store and I really don't want my customers put off by glycerin dew."

"Love the way this soap leaves the skin feeling. It takes longer to cool off. (especially when doing layers). It's a softer soap and doesn't last as long during use. I recommend mixing it with another m & P soap base. It also takes longer to 'cure'."

Q&A

Is the glycerin used in this base animal based or vegetable based?: The glycerin is vegetable based.
is the glycerine non gmo and kosher?: We are not a GMO-free or kosher certified facility.
I am adding around 6% fragrance and the fragrance once the soap is used does not "hold", it is faint or non existent on the skin. What can be done to help the soap hold the scent longer/stronger. Since it can only hold 6% additives adding a higher amount of fragrance is not an option.: You could try adding a clay to your base to help anchor the scent.
Is this soap safe for shampoo bars?: You can use this for shampoo bars.
This soap seams to be a low sweat soap...if any at all. Is it okay to unmold and store them all in a ziploc bag instead of individually wrapping them?: As long as the packaging is air tight, it should be fine. They should be individually wrapped before selling though.
