Reviews

Highly recommend

"This FO has actually become a customer favorite for both tarts and candles. A good fragrance that is both strong and subtle at the same time."

Jennifer C. (4/5)

Beautiful

"I paired this with peppermint candy and it's lovely"

Jacquelyn (5/5)

Great fruity scent

"This doesn't really smell like wine. It's more like grape juice, but that worked for me. It's a great summer soap and I had no issues with it. Just be sure to use a vanilla stabilizer with it for a true grape color."

Anita (5/5)

Spot On!

"This is a very nice, fruity fragrance that customers enjoy."

Marishka (5/5)

Merlot Wine

"Smells exactly as advertised. Made soap wine color. Put in cute package with decorative label. Not a big seller so I will not buy again. But, it does smell great and behaved beautifully in CP soap. Thought it would sell better as a novelty item."

Laurie (5/5)

A huge hit!

"This fragrance oil is a huge hit at my shows. I do a lot of shows at a winery and this always has great reviews! I started with it just in M&P soap, but have expanded to bath bombs and lotion!"

Nicole (5/5)

Yummmmmy!

"If you like wine, you'll love this! Make you soap with this fragrance and some actual merlot as your liquid instead of water. . . a different shower treat that is heavenly!"

Jessica (5/5)

Yum!

"Loved using this scent in my Wine soap batter! It paired well, it performed well in JT hot process soap, scent stayed strong even after it cured! Awesome, will order again!"

Dianne (4/5)

Amazing!

"I am not a wine girl. At all. I bought this because wine is so popular. This FO is simply amazing! Should have bought a much bigger bottle. Used it for bombs and bath salts"

Jamie (5/5)

Amazing Wine Scent!

"LOVE this scent and am coming back for more!"

Q&A

What usage rate percentage is everyone using for soap (cold-process specifically)? IFRA says 12%, but I was taught not to use more than 5% fragrance oil. I don't want to use too little and not have a scent, but I also do not want to use too much and have it separate or be overwhelming.
HI, The IFRA percentage is the maximum percentage that can be used in a product,I advise to follow the recommended percentage that your recipe calls for.
Does Merlot FO accelerate or rice in CP soap making?
Hi Angela, according to other customers they claim that it is very well-behaved and doesn't accelerate or rice in CP soap.
Does the Merlot FO discolor?
Anna, There is always the possibility of discoloration when vanilla is present. The Merlot Wine Fragrance Oil contains 0.10% vanilla. To prevent possible discoloration you may want to add a Vanilla Color Stabilizer to your product!
