Details

Cut soap base into small pieces, and melt in the microwave at 30-second intervals (or use a double boiler), stirring until fully liquefied. Once melted, add cosmetic color, fragrance, and other skin-safe additives—this base can hold up to 5% total additives—then pour the mixture into a Crafter’s Choice mold and spritz the surface with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles. Allow the soap to cool completely before unmolding, then wrap it in airtight plastic wrap to preserve freshness. Melted soap is hot and should be used with caution; recommended for ages 15 and older.

"I wasn't sure if I would like this base or not so I decided to give it a try. Bam! It's awesome! I love how it has the light citrus scent but it's not hard to add other oils to blend in with it, like lavender. Lavender blends well with this soap base. I also like that it's detergent free but it still lathers up great. It's a fresh, clean & clear soap base that I will definitely use again & again."

"Omg just love this soap, smells great with slight orange scent. I added some tangerine butter blend to it, and it smells so good. Is so smooth on the skin, darkens the color alittlle more orange so gives it a deeper orange color. Everyone has loved it. . . its a winner for sure. ."

It is mild, so I did add a little more essential oil and I noticed that without adding color, it was a frosted ecru color. It didn't come out clear for me but it was nice. Is this vegan? Is this cruelty free? Is this all natural? Is this organic?: This product is considered to be vegan and cruelty-free. Because all MP soap bases use lye, they can not be considered all-natural or organic; however, all of our detergent free bases are considered to be 'true soap'.
Is this base safe to use on the face? If so, what skin type would best benefit from it's ingredients?: You will need to examine the ingredient list to determine whether this base will work as a face wash.
Can tussah silk be added to a melt and pour base? I just bought this base and was thinking about adding some. Thank you.: Unfortunately, the silk will not dissolve in MP soap. It would need to be added before the saponification process. Under the Heading ADDITIONAL INFORMATION it says no need to wrap the finished soap.Under the heading DIRECTIONS & INSTRUCTIONS it says to wrap tightly in airtight wrap.WHICH IS IT?: You do not need to wrap the Detergent Free soaps but you may want to use the shrink bands for soap, 102 x 102. This will keep the ends open, while preventing fingerprints on the soap. We will update the information so it will not be confusing to others.
