Our Three Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base is a detergent free soap base that is opaque and white in color. Luxuriate skin with the moisturizing properties of Shea butter, cocoa butter, and mango butter. The 23 pound big block is ideal for larger projects, as it will make (92) 4 oz. bars of soap. Soap comes in a blue bag with twist tie and corrugate box. A single block measures 13 x 11.5 x 6 inches.

Directions:

MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.

MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.

ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!

CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

"I don't want to wrap this product (we are all natural and don't use plastic). But my first attempt with using this soap produced a sweaty, kind of slimy even, bar. Any suggestions?? - btw, I used a clamshell mold - unmolded after 24 hrs, then began to see sweat a few hours later - house was not warm or humid."

Staff Answer WSP does no animal testing on any of their products. We make all our own MP soap bases and a few other products. The rest are purchased from other manufacturers.

COMMENTS: I absolutely love the creamy lather of this base. My skin feels clean but not squeaky clean like most commercial soaps. The goat milk base has always been my favourite but this base is also very good. I do find it takes a longer time to harden than other bases. But I will purchase again!

"Love this soap! "

COMMENTS: For this soap to be detergent free, it produces a big lather. It's very skin softening and highly moisturizing. Makes skin silky. I think I like it just as much if not more than the goats milk soap. Ordering the rage 48 pounds is the way to go! It's hard work cutting it up and storing but you get the most bang for your buck!

COMMENTS: No issues removing from packaging, just tired hands cutting up that big block :), but that just means we need a big cutter - we love this, easy to use, made soap - ha! just cut, melted and molded in square soap molds to give to kids to use - beautiful finish, loads of lather, pleasant smell just as it is. "Detergent Free Three Butter MP 24 lb. Block"

COMMENTS: I buy it in the block only because of price. Like most folks, I hate cutting up the block. I have found that using a rocker blade is easier and safer than hacking away at the block with a large kitchen knife. I like the base because my skin feels softer after using the soap. It melts very nicely, colors well and takes scent well. I like being able to tell customers that it contains mango, shea and cocoa butters.

COMMENTS: I haven't use the soap that I made but my son in law has and he kept asking for more. He said less suds but the soap do what it was suppose to do. He is loving it and his skin was so moist he did not need a lotion. I love the fact that it was detergent free. Cutting a block can be challenging but that what husbands are for right! I am going to cut them into chunks and save them in my 5 gallon bucket so it will be easier to use when I am ready for it.

COMMENTS: I have been purchasing my soap from another major supplier for almost a decade. I decided to give the three butter blend a try though and it is so much better! COMMENTS: Boy cutting up a 24lb block of this is a challenge and an half! Took several hours..lol. Made a cucumber melon loaf with this and swirled with 3 colors. This soap is really manageable at a low temp. I was able to do the swirl at around 112-115F without a heavy skin. Seems to hold scent wonderfully. This soap has a lovely amount of lather and I love the mango, shea and cocoa butter in it. Will definitely buy again!

"Three Butter Soap-24 lb. Block"

COMMENTS: A great soap base for M&P soap for when we are a big rush and can not do our normal cold process soaps. This three butter soap base contains Shea, cocoa and mango butters which are wonderful. This is truly the best base there is. It is a mimic of our own cold process. We add one more butter to this and some tussah silk but this has creamy lather and the is skin softening on it's own. A true bargain for M&P soapers. It is difficult to work work with the huge blocks but still the best bargain out there. We make our own and have big amounts so we are used to this size anyway.

"LOVE THIS BASE!!"

COMMENTS: This base makes your skin so soft! The lather is slightly less than the clear melt and pour, but it's no big deal. The soap sets up beautifully (I live in a dry climate). The faint scent smells great, but certain fragrances make it smell better than others. Sweet fruity or food scents smell even better when mixed into this base. I find it very easy to suspend exfoliants in this, too. Add at about 120 degrees and stir well.

"lovely skin feel but does still sweat"

COMMENTS: no matter how carefully I melted and hardened it, it needed extra plastic wrapping because of sweating. maybe I just haven't found the secret yet. the skin feel is wonderful. I find it hard to choose between this and baby buttermilk.

"Super Moisturizing"

"Pretty good MP"

COMMENTS: This MP is pretty good compared to other company's MP. While theirs sweats horribly, I only get a sticky/tacky feeling with this one that lasts about two days. After that then it doesn't sweat at all. BE CAREFUL when melting as I accidentally pushed 2:00min instead of :20sec and while I didn't notice any immediate issues, the embeds that I made with it sweat TERRIBLY. I had to throw them away because they were literally covered in sweat. Can be very drying but I only use a bit for embeds in CP so it's not noticeable.

"The perfect base for beginning!"

COMMENTS: The base arrived within a few days. Not paying shipping for 24 lbs of soap is a definite plus! It is super heavy, and I removed it from the box. It is wrapped in plastic and may stick in a few spots. Just open the bag and cut of chunks at a time as you use it. It is best to melt the soap after you weight how much you are using, then cut into ice cube tray size cubes to melt it evenly and quickly. It is wonderful and creamy. I made tons of soap with different oils and scents. It is consistently a terrific soap base and well liked by customers. Adding color to the white base makes for a super pretty soap. More color may be needed than with transluscent, but it produces a vivid or muted color depending on what you want. The skin feels wonderful with this soap, and I find it is great for shaving and face wash as well!

COMMENTS: I tried all of WSP's "detergent free" line of MP soaps. They were all fine in terms of quality. Of course they are more creamy than sudsy. I can appreciate that in a soap. And sometimes I actually prefer that. It is to be expected in a df soap base. But my customers (95% of them) want lots of bubbles. So unless I have a customer that specifically requests DF soap, I will be sticking with WSP's other bases. Or having a small percentage of them in my inventory for those customers. Also, the df base took longer to set up and for me required more care in doing more ornate soaps like when making soap cakes or layering etc. It wasn't bad..just took a little more time. But soap itself is nice and seems to be more moisturizing. When I do a promotion or give away to customers I have them fill out a survey card about their preferences. So I learn which customers like creamy or sudsy. That way I know how much to stock.

COMMENTS: I got a little wigged out by the bag this past time I ordered it. A lot of the soap ended up sticking to the plastic bag, but this is still an awesome base. I used to use the sampler kits, but my clientele chose this out of the variety. It holds up in humid environments and sets really well! Basically, if you aren't making high volumes to sell however, I'd really suggest you purchase the smaller versions as it's kind of hard to cut this block and get all of the product off of the bag.
