Product Details

Heirloom Eggplant Purple Mica Powder is a deep shade of purple. The aubergine purple powder is lovely in mp soap, but morphs to grey in cp soap.

The pictured lotus blossom is clear melt and pour soap colored at a rate of 1 tsp. per pound of soap. Color will appear pastel and less vibrant in opaque melt and pour soap bases.

"Should have read the fine print!"

COMMENTS: Like the title says I should have read the reviews before purchasing the product, not WSP's fault, it is clearly mentioned that this color does not hold up in CP soap. It's not all bad though, I only purchased a sample pack and the color turns out a nice smoky lavender in CP. Goes very nicely in lavender scented soaps, but did not create the deep purple I was looking for.

"Really wanted this to be the purple I needed"

COMMENTS: This turns a horrible grey in any base that isnt clear. I really wanted this color to be a deep purple that could overpower the white in a lot of soap bases. It can't. I've found a way to make it work, sort of, by mixing it with a pink. GREAT in clear melt and pour bases.

"Gorgeous color in Hot Process"

COMMENTS: I love this color! It stays true in hot process soap. I add to the oils as they melt in the crockpot and remix after the cook. The color is amazing!

"Beautiful deep dark purple color"

COMMENTS: I recieved this heirloom eggplant in the purple mica sampler. Purple is a favorites in my household! This color is similar to that of a real deep purple eggplant. The hue is not a warm purple, but is more of a cool deep purple. I wanted to make a marbled looking soap. This turned out more gorgeous then I could have hoped for. The color stayed true to how it appeared in the bag. It turned out a little darker than the description picture, but that could have been due to the amount I used, or less shimmer in my opaque soap, and that I didn't blend it completely in. I used .5 teaspoon in about a tablespoon of my soap oil, then swirled in at trace after adding the fragrence oil. I love this color and will be buying a larger amount next time :-)

COMMENTS: This is a beautiful color; very vibrant purple. Previously, I have always added a bit of black to my purples because they were not dark enough. You don't need to add anything to this one as it is perfect the way it is. Pair it with pinks, greens or blues and you have a gorgeous bar of soap. This is a "keeper".

"Great in MP, but not CP soapmaking"

COMMENTS: I used the Heirloom Eggplant Purple Mica to make embeds with M&P soap for a test batch of Black Raspberry Vanilla cupcakes, and the embeds came out beautifully. I then added the colorant to my CP soap for the cupcake bases and it instantly turned a lovely shade of gray. It's been 3 days now, and it's still gray so I don't think it was a temporary morph. Unfortunately, I don't do a lot of M&P soapmaking. Hopefully, I can still use this mica to make Black Raspberry bath bombs.

"i really wanted to love this."

COMMENTS: when i received this as a sample i couldn't wait to use it. unfortunately, when i used it in cp soap it turned gray. i wish i could give it a better rating but it just didn't work for me.

	"Was Ok in lotion and HP soap"
COMMENTS: I was hoping for more of a purple color in the lotion. It was more of grey with a purple sheen. I'm going to reserve any more judgement until i use it in MP soap, which i think will be stunning. I used it with the Love Spell FO so the darker undertones really added to that. It didnt give my lotion or my HP (which is hard to color as well as CP)a beautiful purple color. I will continue to use this in my Love Spell scented lotions.

"Just what I wanted!"

COMMENTS: I have been looking for a purple mica that was able to be used in cosmetics, specifically eye & lip cosmetics. Because WSP hadn't had it, I'd been searching other vendors.
