Details

For melt and pour soap, pour at no hotter than 135°F, cool until hardened, then unmold—freezing briefly and dipping the mold bottom in warm water if needed. For cold process soap, lightly coat the mold with cooking spray, pour at trace, unmold after 24 hours, and cure 4–8 weeks; add sodium lactate if your recipe stays soft. For lotion bars, pour melted mixture (no hotter than 135°F), allow to solidify, then press the back of the mold to release. Wash molds in warm, soapy water and avoid dishwashers to prevent warping.

I've tried spray oil as a release and freezer time,still having trouble. Is there a release agent that may work better? I thought I saw something about a paraffin wax mix but can't find it now....: Try to run the back of your mold (the plastic side) under hot water in short bursts and gently pressing on the top of the mold to unmold your soap. Also, the recipe is key. A harder soap unmolds easier. Sodium lactate can be used to harden your soap bar. I do not know of another releasing agent. I hope this helps!

I thought I saw something about a paraffin wax mix but can't find it now....: Hi Carol, When unmolding CP soap the first step is to spray the mold with vegetable oil prior to pouring the soap, which you have done! There are a couple additional steps that should help the unmolding process. First, allow your soap to sit for 24 hours and try to unmold. If that does not work place the mold in the freezer for 30 minutes and then flip the mold upside-down and allow to come to room temperature. Do not press on frozen mold, this may cause your mold to break.
