Missing mold and ingredients

"I didn’t receive the mold and didn’t receive one of the additives. I’d give it 1 star but the ingredients are high quality and the scent is a great scent. You do not receive it as a “kit” though. It’s mixed in with the rest of your order."

Great smelling

"I enjoyed this product and making it was simple enough. I wished it came with the instructions printed. It was a fair price for the ingredients"

Good product

"I do like the conditioning shampoo bar, but the ingredients were difficult to work with. I could never get all the lumps out of it. Aside from that I really like the bars and I use it for a body wash also."

Great starter kit

"I purchased this kit especially for my daughter who used to buy the micellar water from our local big box stores She loves the way her skin feels and she appreciates the fact that mom made these especially for her."

"Love the smell, i bought a flavor to put in it !"

So runny

"Bought the whipped soap because it didn’t have an offensive odor like the Stephenson bath soap base. This recipe never whipped up and remained runny. Completely wasted my money and base product."

Great Kit for Beginners and a Fun Project Together

"I bought this kit because my nephew, who has autism, wanted to make his own body wash. I figured this would be a safer and more reliable option than a random TikTok recipe, and it absolutely was. The kit is very beginner‑friendly, and we had a great time making everything together. You do need to supply a few extra items: a microwave‑safe measuring cup, a spatula, a glass bowl for mixing the fragrance, and a stabilizer for the body wash. I’d also recommend using a zip‑top or piping bag when filling the lotion bottles — it makes things much easier and less messy. We ended up with some fragrance oil and polysorbate left over, which was a nice bonus. The White Patchouli scent was lovely — noticeable but not overpowering. My only real con is that the instructions assume you have a microwave. We don’t, so we used a double‑boiler method to warm the shower gel and lotion enough to mix in the fragrance. It worked fine, but it would be great if the instructions included an alternative method. Labels or a link to printable labels would also be a helpful addition, especially since many people use these kits for gifts or testing out products. One small note: the link in the instructions for the recipe goes to an error page — adding an “s” to “recipes” fixes it. Overall, this was a fun, easy project, and I’ll definitely be looking at more kits in the future."

Nice scrub!

"This recipe makes a really nice scrub! I used it on my legs and feet and my skin felt great afterwards. 4 stars because it took longer to make than 1/2 an hour…more like 2+ hours with the cooling time. It’s a softer scrub with the granulated sugar and I might try it with cane sugar next time for more texture. I substituted fragrance oil for the hydrosol and left out the color. I’ll definitely make this again!"

Super Cute

"This was a fun make. The loofa didn't fit into the molds, so I had to cut them."

Love this!

"Just added to my line and people are really liking them."

Q&A

Can you use refined shae butter instead of ultra I don't have it? Or is there another butter you can substitute it for?
Yes you can use refined shea butter in this recipe.
I bought this as the kit and received the mica in two 2.5 larger square bags and so all the sparkle is stuck all inside the bag. I trued shaking it flicking it but I'm lucky to get 1/4 tsp from each. Are sure it's a TABLESPOONS and not 2 tspns? Either way I wouldnt have enough so id have to use left I've from another kit with sane sparkle mica. Thanks
Yes, in order for this kit to leave a shimmer on the skin, a larger amount of mica is required. Please cal us to troubleshoot this issue.
I made this product buying the ingredients separately. Instead of the glitter I used about a tablespoon of Ivory Lace Sparkle Mica Powder. Everything else was exactly the same. I have found this recipe does not glide on easily. I gave away several sticks of it and nobody likes it because it is too hard. How can I make this a little softer?Thank you!
You can reduce the amount of Lotion Bar Additive and increase the Shea Butter to give it more glide. You will have to test this until you reach your desired results. Just be sure the adjust your ingredient label accordingly, (Listing ingredients in descending order)
I tried the shimmer stick kit for the first time. My sticks came out hard, with no "glide" on skin...wondering what i did wrong. I am new to the "lotion bar/stick" concept and not sure what it's supposed to feel like going on, but am thinking it shouldn't be that hard...not sure i can use it as is now. Anything i can do to fix this? Can I scoop out the sticks and add something to make them softer, creamier for more glide on skin?
This is not a lotion bar but just a product that puts shimmer on the skin. It has enough glide to rub the glitter onto the skin. To make this product softer, you can add more shea butter.
Is it possible to add color and fragrance to these shimmer stick! And if so how much for each?
For Fragrance we recommend adding 1% - 1 ml. or 2% - 2.5 ml. for 4 oz. We have not tested this with added color ourselves, but you could certainly add some.
