Staff Answer We would recommend weighing ingredients for all our recipes. If purchasing the kit, the shampoo and bubble wash thickener are premeasured. The fragrance would need to be measured.

Staff Answer We make recipes with different ingredients to offer different options in making products. The Juicy Pear Fragrance Oil thinned out the shampoo after it was added so we included the Bubble Wash Thickener. In our Soft & Silky Hair care set, we added the silk amino acids and honeyquat to give the hair a silky feel. We have discontinued the honeyquat so that can just be left out of that recipe. Additional silk amino can be added if desired.

Staff Answer It may be the fragrance that thickened the product. Each fragrance reacts differently and needs prior testing. The easiest way to thin the product is by adding more shampoo. We would not recommend adding water to thin as this would require additional preservative added to the product. If you need to remake, we recommend cutting the amount of Bubble Wash Thickener in half or even fourths.

Staff Answer The propylparaben is in the Stained Glass Sunflower Orange Liquid Color and in the batch there are only 2-3 drops of color. The amount of propylparaben is very minute.

Staff Answer Microwaving the shampoo base is necessary for two reason. It helps to incorporate the fragrance oil and thins the base so that it is easier to pour into the bottles. The shampoo will thicken when it cools.
