Can you substitue the detergent free shea butter MP soap for a Goat's milk MP soap?: Yes you can alter the recipe and use Goat Milk soap.
Why does this recipe call for a water soluble preservative and the other mens shave soap recipe not call for it. They both have detergent free shea butter soap base? I read on the other soap that it didn't need anything extra in the questions because of the saponification process of melt and pour bases but then I see this one with same base and it requires one. I'm confused.: The Travel Shave Kit is contained in a plastic jar. Water can potentially stay in the jar and mold. That is why a preservative was added to this recipe. The Mens Shave Soap is a bar of soap which would sit out to dry after use. You can certainly add the same preservative to this recipe if you like.
If I were to use a paraben-free preservative with this recipe, which product would you recommend? Thanks!: We would recommend Preservative-Water Soluble PF (paraben free). You can use the same amount of this preservative for this recipe.
Does this shaving soap lather well or would it benefit from adding something to improve lather, like lathanol? If an addition can be made, what and how much for this kit?: You can add lathanol powder to this recipe.
