This is a fluid hot process soap recipe. This technique is done by soaping at very hot temperatures to allow the soap to saponify right in the pot. By the time the soap is poured into the mold, it is already at an ideal pH of eight!

Step 1

To pitcher, add water, sugar and sodium lactate. Mix well.

Step 2

To metal pot, add palm oil, coconut oil, castor oil, rice bran oil, olive oil, stearic acid and shea butter. Heat to 210ºF, remove from heat and cover with plastic wrap to keep warm.

Step 3

To water solution, add sodium hydroxide and mix well.

Step 4

Add hot lye solution to hot oils and stick blend until it reaches a thick consistency. (This takes about three minutes of stick blending. You’ll know it’s done when the stick blend starts to struggle and makes a different noise.)

Step 5

Allow soap to sit and rise, and then use a whisk to mix the soap.

Step 6

Cover soap with plastic wrap and allow soap to sit for ten minutes. (It will gel, separate slightly and may rise further.)

Step 7

Remove plastic wrap, and then add yogurt and mix well.

Step 8

To beaker, mix fragrance, gold mica and honey powder. Mix into soap.

Step 9

Pour one-half of soap batter into mold. Sprinkle purple mica on top and then pour remaining soap. Top with botanicals and lightly push them into soap.

Step 10

Allow soap to harden. When hard, remove soap from mold and slice into bars.

Step 11

Allow soap to cure 1-2 weeks.

Step 12

Package and label.

To Use

To Use: Lather with water onto skin. Rinse off. Avoid contact with eyes.
