About This Recipe:

Use this cream on wet or dry hair to style and define your curls. The luxurious butters and oils in this recipe will help keep hair moisturized and supple.

Recipe Ingredients:

Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 8.2 oz. Cocoa Butter - Deodorized & Ultra White
• 8.2 oz. Distilled Water
• 5.95 oz. Shea Butter - Ultra Refined
• 3.80 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Traditional
• 1.75 oz. Stearic Acid
• 0.41 oz. Mango Butter - Refined
• 0.72 oz. Avocado Oil
• 0.45 oz. Macadamia Nut Oil
• 0.20 oz. Carrot Seed Oil
• 0.35 oz. Mango Nectar & Hibiscus* Fragrance Oil 1243
• 0.41 oz. Preservative – Phenoxyethanol + CG
• 0.61 oz. DL - Panthenol 100
• 0.30 oz. Silk Amino Acids Liquid
• 0.20 oz. Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 0.40 oz. Polysorbate 80

• (1) Microwave Safe Bowl
• (1) Spoon or Mortar and Pestle
• (1) Stick Blender or Hand Mixer
• (1) Mixing Spoon or Spatula

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron, workspace and sanitized equipment.
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, add Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Emulsifying Wax, Stearic Acid, Mango Butter, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil and Carrot Seed Oil. 
  2. Heat in microwave in 30 second bursts until wax and butters have completely melted.
  3. Place Panthenol in bowl and grind up with a spoon or pestle and mortar to remove any clumps.  
  4. Add water to microwave-safe container and heat for 1 minute.
  5. Stir panthenol powder into warm water to dissolve. Powder will not be completely dissolved.
  6. Pour water into melted oils/wax and stir. Then, using a stick blender or hand mixer, blend until well incorporated.
  7. Let mixture cool down to around 125°F, then mix in Silk Amino Acids, Poly 80, Vitamin E, fragrance and preservative.
  8. Let sit until completely cool and product has thickened.
  9. Spoon into jars and apply lids.
  10. Label product accordingly.
To Use:  Apply to wet or dry hair.
