Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. Assemble the Star Column Silicone Mold making sure all sides are firmly linked together. Place mold on a cookie sheet to give it stability and also to catch any soap should it leak out. Prop sides of molds against something solid to keep mold from falling over.
  2. In a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 7 oz. of cut up clear soap and 1/2 of the gold mica color bar. Heat in microwave until soap and color have melted. Mix in well.
  3. When soap has cooled to 125°F, pour into star column mold and let set up at room temperature. Remove from mold and trim any excess soap from the sides of the star.
  4. Place the loaf mold on  a cookie sheet.
  5. To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 8 oz. cut up clear soap  and the other half of the gold mica cube. Heat in microwave until melted.
  6. Pour into loaf mold and spritz top with alcohol. This will be used to make the curls for the bottom layer. Let soap set up.
  7. Remove gold soap from the loaf mold. Using a soap cutter or vegetable peeler, slice very thin strips of soap which will curl as you slice them. They do not have to be the same width. Set curls aside.
  8. Place loaf mold on cookie sheet.
  9. To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 12 oz. of cut up white soap. Heat in microwave until soap has melted. Add 0.35 oz. of fragrance oil and blend well.
  10. When soap has cooled to 130°F,  pour half of soap into loaf mold.
  11. Spritz gold curls with rubbing alcohol and place some into soap. The more curls you use the better you will see them in the sliced soap. Add more curls and pour remaining white soap over them. Spritz with alcohol. Let harden.
  12. To microwave-safe measuring cup, add 24 oz. of cut up clear soap and 1/2 of the woodland green soap color cube. Heat until melted. Stir well.
  13. Add 0.70 oz. of fragrance and gently mix in.
  14. When soap has cooled to 125° F, spritz top of white soap well with rubbing alcohol.  Pour soap over white layer, leaving about 1" remaining at the top. Let set for about 20 minutes.
  15. Remelt green soap slightly. Spritz soap in mold with alcohol then pour thin layer of soap into mold.
  16. Spritz the gold star on all sides well with alcohol. Place star into melted green soap in the middle of the mold.
  17. Spritz, again, and pour remaining soap into loaf until you reach the top. Spritz and let set up.
  18. Remove soap from mold. Using soap cutter and mitre box, if available, cut loaf into slices.
  19. Wrap in plastic wrap or other packaging of choice.
  20. Label product accordingly.
