"This was my first attempt at making lotion from scratch. The directions were clear, concise, and the lotion turned out exactly as it should. A couple things about this kit. . . . . you use 72 oz of beer plus 8 oz of water and the butters, etc. but it only comes with 8 8oz bottles. I had extra about 16 oz of extra lotion and put that in smaller bottles to use as testers. So, have extra bottles handy, just in case. Next. . . I liked the Summer Ale scent, but I made half of the batch with Oatmeal Stout FO. OMG. . . . it smells WONDERFUL and is great for the fall. I am going to use this recipe and make all Oatmeal Stout next time. Thanks for offering a kit to make lotion from scratch. I would have never tried without this kit."

"I did weigh all the ingredients instead of simply measuring them and otherwise followed the instructions very carefully. The lotion turned out very nicely. I used half the fragrance oil called for and am very happy with that. The recipe called for less of several ingredients than the kit includes. I am not sure what I will do with those odds and ends. If you are looking for a product that really smells like beer, you might be disappointed, but I find this fragrance light and fresh and my husband (a brewer) likes it, too."

Q&A

Just finished making this lotion which is NOT anywhere near lotion, but soupy water mess. The waxes were melted, I can't see any remedy. How do I think it? It separated instantly, Also, the instructions say ONE hour which is a huge error since you have to set the beer out a 1/2 day and also set in the frig for an hour, PLEASE help me not waste all this mess, how do I thicken ???: Please call us, and we can help troubleshoot.
Is there anything I could substitute the babassu oil with?: You can try coconut 76 which is also a solid oil. You can also use any other of your favorite oils but this can change the feel of the lotion.
