Inspiration: A warm summer day in the Midwest seems hard to beat, as it is full of so many wonderful opportunities on how to spend the day. It can be spent on the endless fields of luscious farmland where wild oats and corn grow. Here, the summer breeze can bring anything from the light smell of daylily to the tart smell of elderberry to your nose. Leave the fields and find one of the five great lakes that surround this area. The beaches here may not be salty, but the smell of the lakeshore on summer days is damp, yet fresh. When your adventurous day here nears its end, going home to enjoy some chocolate peanut butter fudge is a must. The Midwest is all too familiar with fluctuating weather conditions, so a summer thunderstorm is a comforting way to end the day. There is nothing quite like sitting on the porch to watch the storm while the smell of rain on a warm driveway fills the air.
